To edit the website:

The files you want to edit are:

  • config.toml contains all of the settings for the site and the home page. You can edit the tagline, the menu, the footer text, and more here.
  • the content folder contains the individual pages on the site. You can edit the text on individual pages here.

The easy way:

  1. Ask Soju for an account so you can write to this git repository.
  2. Click on a file, edit the contents, click "commit."
  3. Go to build.sojuhokari.com and click the "Build!" button under "bencramertherapy.com." Once the status shows "Build successful!" the updates should be up on the website!
  4. If it never says "Build successful!" then there's been a problem. Ask for help.

The harder way:

  1. Install Zola on your computer. Installation instructions are here. If you have Homebrew installed, I would install via that using brew install zola. If not, I would either install homebrew, OR install via rust by installing rust and then running cargo install --locked --git https://github.com/getzola/zola.
  2. Clone this site to your computer. Soju will have to give you an account to write to this git repository. Once you have the account, run git clone git@git.sojuhokari.com:sojuhokari/bencramer.git to clone.
    • In the future, run git pull to make sure you've pulled all changes back down to your computer.
  3. Open the files you want to edit in your favorite text editor (VS Code is recommended). Save them.
  4. Run zola serve and open the address it directs you to open. You now have a preview of the changes you're making to the site.
  5. Once you're happy with the changes, use your favorite git client to stage those files and commit them.
  6. Run git push to push your changes back up.
  7. Go to build.sojuhokari.com and click the "Build!" button under "bencramertherapy.com." Once the status shows "Build successful!" the updates should be up on the website!
  8. If it never says "Build successful!" then there's been a problem. Ask for help.
